I'm meeting up with Mick and Steph for a brief part of their Euro tour which I am very much looking forward to. Mostly to see some friendly faces and to chew that fat over a few real pints of Guiness :)

I've just popped into a net cafe to check-in my flight back to London so as to get a decent seat and to kill a liitle bit of time.

The flight over was quick and mostly boring, flying no frills airlines is um, interesting to say the least, but i did get a seat right up the front of the plane. So plenty of leg room. I was also amazed at how quiet it is when you fly right up the front :)

I'll post a photo when I can.

I'll also be home by the end of next week, apologies to those that I haven't been able to see yet, but I look forward to seeing everyone when I get home :)

(Top 10 still to come)

Queeny

Originally uploaded by Los Cardinalos - GT.

This is my cousins most gorgeous kitten Queeny

Growing Pains

Originally uploaded by Los Cardinalos - GT.

On Tuesday just gone, my auntie Magge, my cousin Freddy and her young family went for a walk around where we were all brought up in Blenheim Crescent, Notting Hill.

I didn't know this, but we lived at no 57, Maggie at 81, Uncle's Richard and Nick lived next door to Maggie and my Dad and his family also lived in the same street/local area. We have a lot of family history in this area and today I learnt a hell of a lot more that I wanted to know :)

In the above photo is the flat that I was born in (and Nick to for that matter.) We occupied a small flat that was just above the front door and to the right. Apparantly, i was born in the room at the top right of the photo.

We then walked up to Portobello Road market and stopped for some lunch. We then walked up Ladbroke Grove and saw the flat the my Mum and my eldest brother Ben lived in, then walked down Bassett Road to the flat that I spent 10 years in.
In this flat, it was huge. It was the whole basement of these huge Edwardian house and we had the garden.
Whilst we were standing out the front reminiscing, a neighbour came out and asked if were "ok", we all replied that we used to live there 20 years ago and were just having a look and mentioned a few names of the people that lived there and they had all moved out since, but she was a relative of the spanish family that moved in after Mrs Emery died just before we left. She shared the same birthday as the Queen Mother. Also Miss Dyas the ballet teacher who lived up the top had also moved out.

We then went up to St Marks Park up the road for some more memories of runnign around there as a youngster.

It was a great day out and I am very thankful to be given a guided tour, it was a lot of fun :)

I have now done everything and met up with everyone that I have wanted to. I have almost caught up with all friends that are here and will get the chance to do so in the next 10-12 days that I am here.

I am off to Ireland next week for about 2.5 days to meet up with Mick and Steph. I have also found out that my Granny has a very big Irish heritage, especially from Dublin where we are going to be. So whilst I am waiting for them to come in, I will visit them in the early afternoon. I also have a cousin in Belfast that I will call and see if he may be local when I am there :)

My happiness levels are back up around normal which is 'king marvellous. I am now also ready to come home and get a job and get back in to the swing of things. I also think that I may have hung up my clubbing shoes as I really can't be arsed with it all now. But we'll see how we go :)

Coming up next, Top 10 things.

Up n Go

Up
Originally uploaded by Los Cardinalos - GT.

Last week I went off to visit my Granny and my auntie Viv, had an absolute ball out there. Viv and I went for a bike ride from Deal to St Margarets, which is up and over a cliff on the way to Dover, was the most scenic ride and i managed to snap off quite a few really good shots on the way.

St Margarets is sort of famous as one of the places that Ian Fleming wrote some of his James Bond stories. He lived in a house just up from the beach. It's also famous as the closest actual point between England and France and is used as the start off point for cross Channel swims.

That evening we wandered around town so I could get some nice evening shots of Deal. It is a very photogenic town and one of the many reasons that I love coming back to Deal. There was a fair on that night, it was mostly empty, which provided me some fantastic shots of the flashing lights and rides moving without anyone on them. (It was a school night just before school holidays, so I think that was why it was so quiet.)

On the Friday, Viv took me over to visit the graves of my Grandpa, cousin and uncle over in Eyethorne. As sad as it was, I am so very happy that I have now finally had my chance to say goodbye in person and pass my love and thoughts on to each of them at their final resting place. In my mind, I had written out a letter to them, thanking them for everything that they had ever done for me (I had learnt a lot from all three over my time spent with them.) and that I always loved them and missed them dearly.

This is a big thing for me as I obviously hadn't done this before and is also one of the main reasons for this trip to England.

We then went for a quick trip to Ramsgate and a photo tour of there too.

On the Saturday morning at breakfast, Granny and I were having a right old laugh at many silly things that we had got up to as kids, including herself, it was so nice to see a side of her that I have rarely seen and I we both really appreciated the laugh. I also said to her that I learnt a lot about our family since being at her house, like my Grandpa's middle name. I also found out that during the second world war, Grandpa was based out a Caerphilly Castle in Wales, which just so happens to be sort of down the road from where my brother Ben lives, had I known this earlier, I would've actually gone there to visit. I've mentioned this to a couple of aunties, who were also surprised as they never knew either, including Mum.

It was very special for me to visit Deal this time around and I am so glad that I made the effort to go and say hello. I may try and get there for another night before I come home.

50 things guys wish girls knew......

1. If you want to cuddle after sex go buy a teddy bear.
2. Swallow. Don't start the race if you ain't gonna finish it.
3. While giving a hand job please remove all rings from your fingers, they hurt really badly.
4. Shave your shit. Seriously, shave it bald.
5. Remember that a little blood never hurt anybody.
6. There is no such thing as a fat, ugly, blowjob.
7. If you ask us to any sort of dance that requires that we wear a tie, we expect a sexual favor in return.
8. If you used a vibrator and let us watch it might be the greatest moment of our life.
9. If you wonder why we will not eat you out it is most likely because; it stinks, its hairy, or it stinks and its hairy.
10. You masturbate and we know it. When you do it just let us watch.
11. Birth control is the best invention ever. Start poppin those bitches.
12. Just cause we call you when we are drunk does not mean that we like you. It means that we need some ass.
13. Guys night out means guys night out. It doesn't mean that you and your friends meet us at the bar later.
14. If you wonder why your ass looks fat in those tight pants its because you have a fat ass.
15. If you are with us and you start to cry for any reason just get up and leave.
16. Don't think that we don't know that after we take you out and you order a salad to make us think you eat healthy that you go home and order pizza with your fat friends.
17. Once again, seriously shave your shit.
18. Just cause you get our dick one night, does not give you any right to get it the next.
19. If we drink too much, we do not need someone to hold our hair back and act like our babysitter. We have puked before and know how to handle it.
20. After we are through with you, do not expect to make us jealous by fucking our friends. We really don't care what you do.
21. If we cheat on you and you never find out about it, then its not cheating.
22. If we cheat on you and you do find out, at least it wasn't with one of your friends.
23. Swallow(just in case you forgot #2 already).
24. We don't have a problem with watching chick flicks as long as we get in your pants after.
25. Never under any circumstance take a shit while you are around us or fart. Just thinking about it makes us sick.
26. While giving us head don't be afraid to fondle our testicles, they don't bite.
27. If you are gonna jerk us off aim properly, a nut can irritate your eye.
28. Always remember that men are the superior sex and back in the day you had to ask us if you could speak.
29. If we're about to have sex and we decline because we don't have a rubber its not because we're scared we're gonna get you pregnant, its that we're scared we're gonna catch something from your dirty skank ass.
30. If you swallow like you should, do not expect us to kiss you after. Sorry that's just the way it is.
31. I don't care if you do have a flavored condom, you just don't give a blow job with a condom on. Would you like us to eat you out with a dental damn?? I didn't think so.
32. If we're doing it doggy style there is no reason to turn around and look at us, we're focused on your ass cheeks and that slapping sound.
33. Blood stains on our bed sheets come off with cold water, so make sure you scrub them thoroughly before leaving.
34. When we go down on you to munch on your rug and we instantly start sucking on the inner thighs rather than the clit, its because your clit smells like a dead trout.
35. If you let us donkey punch you we will owe you for life.
36. Just cause we have sex with you when we are drunk does not mean that you are pretty or that we like you. It means that you were our only choice.
37. If we dance with you for more than 15 minutes at a bar we expect you to come home with us.
38. If you think that you are ugly, we probably do too.
39. Don't count on us saying we love you, its just not going to happen.
40. If for some reason we do say we love you its only because we want to have sex immediately after we say it.
41. Just cause you have our phone number doesn't mean we want you to call us. If we want to talk then we will call you.
42. If you invite us over to watch a movie it would be awesome if we watched a porn instead of a movie.
43. If you can't dance then you most likely suck in bed. So stop trying to dance and start having more sex.
44. Hmmmmm......girls in thongs.......yummmmmmmmmm
45. If you are fat the only way you are going to get anywhere in life is to give great blow jobs. Sorry that's just the way it is.
46. A sure way to keep a guy around for awhile is to have anal sex with him. We can't put into words how it feels.
47. You don't have to ask our permission to make out with another chick. Just do it but make sure we are there to watch.
48. In case you didn't read #4 and #17 let me repeat...Shave your shit!
49. Guys don't have sex or make love, we fuck.
50. It kind of reminds me of what Matthew Flinders would be like without the pokies and a little bit smaller.

The weekend just gone, we all headed up to London to spend Saturday night there and so Claire and Michael could go and see his Grandparents as they hadn't seen each other in a few months. After we dropped Claire and Michael off, Ben and I went to his mates house where Ben spent the night. I then went over to Nick's to spend the evening with him. By the time I got there, I was still pretty stoned from a little spliff I had earlier in the day and was very hot and sticky from a long walk from Camden Town station to Nicks place due to there being no trains from Camden Town to Finchley Central.

We spent the evening in a really nice pub up the road with the 3 most gorgeous girls I have met this whole trip. Of course I fell for the polite English one, Carol, but nothing was going to happen as she was teeing up someone on the phone most of the time and the other 2 stunners from South Africa, well I'm not sure? And before you all go, Joe's trying to score another blonde, stand back folks, she isn't blonde! (There’s a whole other story there that I may go into at another time.)

Sunday morning I headed back down south to Croydon to meet up with Ben and I had a pretty emotional train journey there. I am worried about my brother for many reasons that I won't discuss here, but I seem to let them affect me indirectly. There was a little child of about maybe 5 that said to his Mum, "Mummy, why’s that man crying?" She looked over and asked if I was ok. I thought that was very kind of her to ask. A lot of the people here are just right cunts that wouldn't give you the time of day ordinarily. I discussed with Ben what was going on in my head and we shared a good old cry about it and agreed that families do suck, but at the same time, we all love each other very much and miss each other very dearly. (This is all 3 of us.)

The trip back to Wales was ok, it was fairly quiet and non-descript. I gladly got a couple of hours sleep in there somehow :)
Sunday night, Ben and I watched the World Cup game and had a couple of beers and a good old chin wag about us, which I really appreciated and thanked him for. I had a really good sleep on Sunday night and I now feel a great relief that I have got some of these "demons" out of my head, as well as having someone so far, yet so close to me share in that.

Tuesday morning I headed to Bournemouth in the South of England to visit my Dad and his young family. At first, I was a little apprehensive about going, but after discussion with Mum and Nick about this side of the family, I said to myself that I should go and spend a few days with them. (I’ll add here now, that I am so glad that I did do that J)

The train trip itself was a fantastic very scenic journey of traditional ye olde countryside of England, unfortunately for me, the train was going to fast for me to worry about getting my camera out, so I didn't really worry about it. If it's a nice day when I return on Friday, then I will get my camera out :)
(It is now Friday as I write this and I have been editing photo’s all of the way home and missed the lot.)

When I jumped of the train in Bournemouth, I looked around the platform and couldn't see anyone that I recognised and thought that maybe Paul, Kelsey and Wesley may be either late or waiting out the front. Little did I know, that my 2 baby brothers are now grown right up!!! Kelsey is now 13 and Wesley is now 10 and so much bigger than I realized or expected.
We walked out to the car and Wes pulled out this little teddy bear that I had apparently given him as a baby, he asked me if I remembered, but sadly I didn’t. Poor little guy started to cry and gave me a huge hug. Both Paul and I explained that I too had had a very difficult time with all this family business and that I have forgotten some things that have happened over this time. He told me that he misses me so much and because he was born in Australia that the day he turns 18 he will be on my front door step wanting to move in. No problem little buddy, you are both welcome any time boys :)
Wes has also slept with that teddy every night since he got him. Awesome!

That evening after dinner, we all went down to the local beach in Boscombe for a wander and a chat. They live in a nice part of the world and even though they hate it there, they are quite lucky that they are not in some shithole flat in London or Glasgow.

It was a good time, even if a little short that I spent with everyone in Bournemouth, but this is one of the reasons why I find myself back in this country and am glad for the experience’s and the family love and everything that comes with it, whether that be good or bad.

I am glad that I have taken the time out of my usual life to come over here and get to know my evergrowing family at a time when they will remember it. I know that I will see you all again when I return in the not to distant future.

Before I left Cardiff earlier in the week, I had to ring the National Insurance No Hotline to find out what my insurance number is, I was told that I would have to sit an interview and couldn’t work until I had received this number. I kept reminding the bloke on the phone, that I am a British Citizen, but I have been out of the country for the last 20 years. (Everyone born here is assigned a number when they either born or turn 16, I can’t remember the specific one.) Anyway, he starts crapping on about how you have to sit an interview so as they don’t think that I have come over here just to score the dole. I replied back with, but as a British Citizen, I am eligible for the dole, in which he replied, “Oh yeah, of course you are mate”. Hmmmmm, I wonder what was really going on there. So he eventually said that they could fit me in to see someone in Cardiff on the 9th of August, such a shame that I will be somewhere between London and Melbourne by that stage. He said, that if I were to return, then I could sit an interview then. I might just call them again to confirm.

I hopefully have a night out on the tap with Ben tonight or tomorrow, then Monday I am heading back to London. Family visits all week, including a 3 day trip to Granny’s in Kent. I am very much looking forward to that as I love where she lives as it’s very scenic and photogenic :D

I must also apologise for not sending out any emails to anyone, but I haven’t really been on the net to much, but I will send something out shortly :)

One of my last days as a family 1987

Originally uploaded by Los Cardinalos - GT.

Ben and I had been going through some old photos that he has and we stumbled across this old one.

I can't remember the exact day, but it was only a couple of days before we moved to Australia in August 1987.

I have to say, that everytime I look at this photo I keep thinking that it was also one of the sadest days that I can remember. Yes I know that moving to Australia should be a fun thing, but not when you are 10. I was very settled in my little existance, friends, family, toys, locale etc. But I found it very disturbing and upsetting, At the time and this definitly showed all through my growing up. I think I started to be ok with it when I was about 18 or 19.

Sadly, 2 of the people in this photo have since passed away, my cousin Jan (prounounced Yan (in the middle)) died suddenly whilst on holiday in Italy in the early 1990's, then my lovely Grandpa on the far right. I did come back in October of 1998 when he was first admitted to hospital and stayed with him for 2 weeks and he sadly passed away December 31st 1998 (AU time.)
Very shortly afterwards, my Uncle Nick also died of pneumonia, he went to hospital complaining of his ailments, they said he had a cold and was sent home, he never woke up :(

From left to right, is my auntie Maggie, cousin Jago, Granny, me, Jan, Garry, Mum & Grandpa.

Happily 2 weekends ago, I got to catch up with my cousin Jago, I hadn't seen him since the day we flew out and I was so happy to see him again. He came over to Nicks place and we went and spent the afternoon at Hampstead Heath slowly catching up over the last 20 fucking years that we have had no communication. Well all that is about to change.
We now exchange random sms's often and I will stay with him for a couple of days when I head back to London in about 10 days. It's funny, he and I seem to have led a rather similar life, we have very similar interests in almost everything.

If my memory serves me correctly, Nick & Jago met at Uncle Nicks funeral and have been in constant contact ever since. Brilliant to hear boys :)

Meeting up with all of my family is my goal whilst I am here and I am so happy that I am getting in contact with everyone again. I have a few more cousins that I want to visit and my Auntie Maggie who lives near London. I will also arrange for a couple of days to visit my Dad and his family down south, but I think that will long enough as I have a lot of people to fit in. I will then like to head out to Grannys and spend a few days with her and visit the Kent countryside :)

I am also going to head over to Dublin for 2 days to visit Mick n Steph who will be there at the start of August. Unfortunately, this may mean that I miss out on Holland, but not sure about that yet.

This evening I will work out my budget and get a final plan together for my last 4-5 weeks here and abroad.

One of the best parts is that I get to spend Nick's birthday with him for the first time in 22 years. Sucks to have a family so spread out across the world, but at least we will have this one bro :)

Will a lovely cup of tea see you right love?

Lovely cup of tea see you right love
Originally uploaded by Los Cardinalos - GT.

I had such a good day yesterday. I headed in to Cardiff Central and walked all over this great city. Me not usually a good tourist headed off to the Cardiff Castle after a short stroll through the Queen Street Mall. The Castle is quite scenic, not much to see if you only do the cheap ass visit like I did. I didn't want to pay 7.50 to have a personal tour of any castle.

After the castle which I stayed for about an hour and a half, I headed next door to the Castle Gardens/Sofia Gardens, very pretty area and very well maintained. I stopped there for a Cornetto and a bit sit down.

Caught a cheap tourist bus down to the Cardiff Bay, I do like a good waterfront and this one certainly lived up to my expectations. It actually reminded me alittle of Cape Towns V&A waterfront precint, only theirs is much nicer and more developed. I walked around there for a good 2 hours and by this time my stomache is starting to rumble. Headed back in to the city as I couldn't find a decent eatery. Found a Pizza Hut of all things, so I had to go in :p
About half way through ordering, a security van screached up out the front with a siren blazing and an announcement, "Call the police, blahblah security guard is in need of assistance, call the police". I am not sure if anyone did actually call the police, but I did ask the bloke when my pizza turned up and he said, I'm sure someone else did! I did see a few people on their mobile phones and did overhear one girl did call.

This brings me to one's safety and personal security in this country. We think Australia can be a bit rough at times, but none of that even comes close to anywhere in the UK. Every one here is drunk, or is out of it on either coke or ice and it's actually quite disgusting to be around. No one has an issue with coming up to you to offer a variety of drugs or anything else for the right price. With this, they are also casing you up to see what you have on you.
I am rather loathe to have my camera out of my back pack and pretty much only carry the dslr if I'm with other people or in an area that I know to be reasonably secure. They have ads on TV that say you will be seen and recorded more than 300 times in 1 day. That should give you a rough idea of what it can be like.

The town I am in Wales is no different. There are cameras everywhere, Police screaming up the streets all the time, fights after the pubs close is a gauranteed thing, but it is a nice town at the same time. Lots of friendly people, all wanting to know why an Aussie is in Ponty?

I never thought I would face a language barrier in the UK, but here we are. Welsh is the predominant language spoken here and in some shops they just can't understand a word I say and vice versa. I find it quite amusing :p

When I got home, Ben I headed up one of the nearby mountains on our mountain bikes. This was phenomonal. I was completely knackered even before we'd started from walking all around Cardiff earlier in the day. Heading down the hills around here at full speed on a bike is so much fun. I haven't enjoyed myself like this since I was litttlen.

Going up the hill in some parts was well hard, I had to stop to catch my breath and to stop my stomach from hurting, but persisted on all the same. After about an hour or so, we made it the top and too a few photos to prove that I actually did it :P
Coming back down, I took a nasty tumble, I got the pedals caught in a rut and going at some speed went head over into some stinging nettles. I got up, composed myself, rode on until I found some doc leaves and got myself sorted.

(Doc leaves are amazing things, they grow near stinging nettles and are used to stop the reaction you get when stung. You break them open, spit on the area (or on your hand) and rub it in. I am told the spit causes and acidic reaction with the chemicals in the doc leaves. Bloody marvey.)

The ride down the whole hill must have taken all of about 10 minutes, at very fast speeds, tear assing about over little rocks and gravel.

Made it home and had a good bath and this helped to not get cramped or anything like that. Feeling rather fit today though I must say!

YOU DON'T HAVE TO READ THIS NEXT BIT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO.

Anyway, I haven't been getting much sleep in the last week, my panic attacks seem to have started again. I hadn't had one in quite a few weeks, but they have been coming back very strongly and scaring the fuck out of me, They are usually only at night and around the time I am trying to get to sleep. I haven't spoken with many people about them as I don't want to bother peeps. I have briefly spoken with my doctor about it and he wants to see me again when I get home.
When I was a kid (young, about 3 onwards) I would maybe have one a year, when I was a teenager I didn't have one until I was about 19, then maybe one every couple of years until I moved to Alamein, then I started getting them nightly. They are scary as I have no control over them and a lay in bed freaking out trying to get back to sleep.

I have no doubt that all the drugs I took last year helped the situation, but having only had 1 pill in the last 4.5 months I am comfortable that it is probably not that at all.

Last night, I was on my own as my brother had gone to his girlfriends house for the night and was up quite late processing photos for Flickr and I was ok, until I went to bed. I'd spoken with my Dad earlier in the evening and that conversation was ok, but I did feel like shit soon afterwards. These things get me down in more ways than anything else. I don't miss him or his family and have in fact pretty much given up all forms of communication as I have offered so many ways for him to contact me (even for free with Skype) and he never fucking bothers. I thought that given i am here it would be a nice idea to see them for a couple of days or even a few? This could have contributed as I was thinking of this situation a lot.

I'm also going through thoughts about my previous job and how one of my previous managers have been backstabbing the fuck out of me, not that it should really matter, but it does. Talking out of school about my performance review with my former colleagues is not very professional. You have been found out and hopefully you will be dealt with!

And of course I am contemplating still being single at 30. I'm not sure what the deal is there. I know there are people that like me and would like for things to progress on, but for some reason I am continually given hurdles. Fucked if I know what to do?
I am reaching points where I get to scared to ask someone out or fear of rejection (never had this problem before, infact I used to see is as a challenge) or fucking up an existing relationship. I guess sometimes it's best to sit back and say nothing.

And with all of this I ask, Will a lovely cup of tea see me right?

Drip drip drop little April showers

Drip drip drop little April showers
Originally uploaded by Los Cardinalos - GT.

Cheers to Ziz for spotting this photo as the most Interesting photo on Flickr for not just Melbourne, but Australia!!!

WOO HOO, Makes me a happy dude :)

Check it <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/australia/interesting/" target=_blank">here

River Taff Bike Trail

Originally uploaded by Los Cardinalos - GT.
I went for a good bike ride today, maybe some 5 or 6 miles, from Pontypridd at the bottom of the map, up to EdwardsVille at the top of the map (See link below for map). It was good ride, mostly flat, except for in Pontypridd where it is super huge hills. I did quite well with riding up most of them, but was completely fucked when I reached the tops of them.

I'll do these rides again, as they are very scenic to do and of course good exercise. Well not to much of the latter anyway.

Saturday night, we went out to one of the many local pubs for a few beers. The pub we were in has a "Down Under Bar' that runs on a Friday night, so I may have to go and check that out next Friday night :p

Off to Cardiff shortly and will hopefully do a tour of the Millenium Stadium and the Cardiff Castle, assuming of course that they are open.

The tastiest beer ever!

The tastiest beer ever!
Originally uploaded by Los Cardinalos - GT.

Nick, Diana and I went to the Camden Lock pub last night and drank the most tastiest of tasty beers, Kronenbourg Blanc. droooooool.

True strory

True strory
Originally uploaded by Los Cardinalos - GT.

Nicks friend lives in the basement below (Where you can see the window open.) She was then sitting at the bus stop nonchalantly as if nothing happened, so we all started yelling shit out the window at her and she ran off nearly crying.
It was very funny.

Regal pageantry at it's best

Originally uploaded by Los Cardinalos - GT.

After Big Ben, I went and checked out St James Park for a quick sit down and a bottle of water, I then moved onto the War Office, House of the Cavelry, The Mall and then up to Buckingham Palace. Today had very good visibility and you could see well out in to the country. It did feel a little weird as I am not the best on a ferris wheel at the best of times and this one is friggin huge! 135 metres to be exact!

The whole "flight" took about half an hour as was the right amount of time to not be bored with it. I'm very excited and very excitable this morning.

I woke as the sun was coming up at about 4:15 this morning and leant over and took my first shot since I got here! As you can see, it's quite bright when the blinds are open.

My flight here was ok, the Virgin Blue section from Melbourne to Sydney would have to have been the dirtiest plane I have ever sat on, fat cunts eating their McDonalds and spilling the shit everywhere! *Note to self, don't fly Virgin Blue again.
I arrived in Sydney and remembered that the nice lady at Virgin in Melbourne said that I would have to collect my luggage when I got to Sydney, unlike what my travel agent said. I then ventured off to get the train over to the International Terminal. Everything started to go very smoothely from then on.

I had pretty much just made it in time to check in at Virgin Atlantic and to get myself through customs and to the air bridge, to get on the plane. I think I had about 10 minutes to spare for boarding.

The flight from Sydney to Hong Kong was nice and smoothe and was day light nearly all the way, oh for a window seat to take some photos. We arrived at Hong Kong 8.5 hours later and i am now starting to feel very tired, hungry and grumpy. A 2 hour wait there saw us jet off into the night sky and head north towards Beijing, then north west over Russia. I managed to get a bit over 7 hours sleep in total which was very welcome :)

The in flight entertainment was fantastic, there were 100's of tv episodes to choose from, or one of the 50 movies or 30 games. All on demand. There was one point over the south of Finland that my tv screen decided to reboot itself and I learnt that each terminal is operating on Linux. One thing that I really like about these video on demand terminals (or modern flight for that matter), is being able to see exactly where you are in the world on a map, then on a vareity of other maps too.

We arrived at Heathrow on time at 5:30am, customs and luggage collection was all completed in about 10 minutes and i was ready to tackle the Underground for the first time in 20 years.
It was all pretty straight forward, you line up the counter to purchase your ticket, accept for the fuckhead at the front of the line that held everyone up for 15 minutes! I have no idea what the fuck was going on, but everyone in this now huge queue was very pissed off, he was called a cunt more times by everyone in the counter than I have ever heard anyone being called a cunt before. Now that's a lot!

I thought the walk to the station from Terminal 3 was going to be brief, hoping and walking are not good traits of mine, so after a 10 minute walk I got to the platform. (I imagine the station to be right smack in the middle of the airport?) There was a Piccadilly line waiting for me and sped off almost as soon as i got on. I also learnt that there is a train leaving almost every minute too. I jumped off at Leicester Square station to change for a Northern Line train to take me to Nicks and got one immeadeatly.

The trains are all refurbished now as are the stations, the last time I was here they were pretty disgusting.

I arrived and quickly called Nick to say I was at the station, come get me, ( I knew it was only a 5 minute walk, I just wasn't sure where to walk to) Awesome, I hear his voice and run up and give him a hug!

I spent most of yesterday watching tv and chatting with Nick and his flatmate Luke about all sorts of stuff. They share a lovely flat and it is very welcoming and homely.

At about midday, I was ready for sleep and Nick had to go and work so I crashed on the couch. I woke up at about 9:30pm and the sun still blazing like it was 3 in the afternoon, of which I thought it was! Nick made a tasty curry and then he headed to bed at about 10:30 after we watched the second half of Germany v Poland. Stupid Germans didn't deserve to win that game after fucking up so many times right in goal. Well they did win in the end, 1-0 and it was quite a spectatular goal at that.
I went back to sleep at about 1am after watching some of Naked Gun 2 1/2 and woke up about an hour and half ago to write this on some one's open wireless access.

Go me!

One thing I was amazed at when I woke up this morning, was the silence, for the city that never sleeps it was so nice to hear nothing but the occasional bird singing. It' now 5:45am and it's still pretty quiet. Maybe I'm to used to that bloody train station across the road at home?

Later today, I might head down to Camden Market which is just down the road and see what happens with the rest of it.

Favourite shot of the day

Originally uploaded by Los Cardinalos.

Sunday night we packed down our exhibition, what a fantastic experience and what a fantastic turn up from all of our friends and passers by.

Thank you to all of you that came in and said hello and stopped in for a look and a chat, greatly appreciated.

Tomorrow sees me fly out to the UK for 2 months, I can't wait. I haven't been this excited since I found that Santa really was a cunt and didn't actually exist. That meant, I stopped getting childrens toys and started getting some REAL presents :D

I'll hopefully be posting as much as I can whilst I'm away. You will all be missed, but I will be back soon enough.

Whilst I am away, I will also try and sort out my 30th birthday which is coming in September, so standby for that :)

See you on the internets and again in August :)

For those of you in the UK already, expect a call or email very shortly, as I would love to see you for a beer or many.

What the Fuck?

What the Fuck?
Originally uploaded by Los Cardinalos.

So Melbourne, I ask you this, Does Connex really supply us with safe enough transport?

From what I am seeing here, you now have to push a button in order to for your mugging/bashing/raping/drunken fuck head to be filmed on the train that you are being mugged/bashed/raped/drunken fucked on.

What gives? Much more econimical than a 6 cylinder Falcon that's for sure :)

This morning I went up to the bike shop in the high street and bought a helmet and a few other essentials and then went for my first bike ride in 10 years. Holy fucking shit, that was the most awesome thing I have done in years! I rode for 10 kilometers along Gardiners Creek near where I live. I took a bit over an hour to do and at a very relaxing pace I might add.

This is going to become a very regular thing for me now, especially as I am not working for 2 months from Tuesday :D

I'm not big into the whole exercise thing, but I am more than happy to spend a day on the bike sightseeing all over Melbourne. Next time I will take a camera. I saw some very interesting graf pieces and some old fashioned bridges to photograph. Next time :)

You can't take photos here

Originally uploaded by Los Cardinalos.

I haven't taken a photo in ages, having been very uninspired due to me about to be unemployed, but I did snap a few last night in the station where apparantly this is illegal? Holy shit, what a day that was. I started the day off with a major hangover from Nadine's birthday party last night at Honkytonks, got myself into the city to help Scott finish off printing the catalog's, (Cheers work) at about midday, then quickly zapped back home again to pick up my PA for some tunes.

Got to the gallery for 2pm and quickly set up the sound system and used the trusty i-Pod for tunes. Originally I was just going to play some chill out shit like Buddha Bar and Hed Kandi (None of which I actually like, but you have to have a happy medium.) then I realised that my ipod is chock full of local talent from Melbourne, (Which was the theme for this exhibition), so we played a set from LukeMcD, Becy, MidgetFidget and finished with Gene Hoffman's Intelligent - Unintelligent set, all keeping with the local talent around.

At 2:30, realised that I hadn't purchased my slab yet so a few of us made a quick dash up to safeway to get a variety of beers and rushed back in time for the 3pm kick off.

3pm ticks by, the place is already packed full, people everywhere, at this point I'm starting to get a bit overwhelmed by it all so I got myself a beer, hangover cured in an instant and I'm now ready!

I want to thank everyone that came in and took the time out to stop by have a chat, a beer and look at what myself and some mates have put together, I really truely appreciate it a lot.

Cheers go out to all the people involved from Flickr:
S2art, Ziz, Donina, Scootie, DJ Mudgutz, eyecatcher, Barb, Bring Back Buck, byte, City on Sunday/Gavin, Foutugraphe, Gilfer, Hangdog, Lonely Radio, Nettsu, Pappalicious, Science & Thomask :)

Thank you to our supporters who came along:
Elli, Kerryn, Pauly, Mick, Steph, Katrina, Tania, Dan, Cath, Trudie, Rose, Pete, Damian, Helen J, Helen B, Dave K, Bec, Dean, Felicite, Mitch, Sally, Teresa & baby, Ian, Sheila, Mum, Garry, Vanessa, Barry Bear, Kim, Rick, Becy, Tash, Ben V, Dimi and Sally W. My apologies if I have missed anyone.

6pm came around very quickly and it was time to kick everyone out, we achieved rather effortlessly, well at least it was on my part. There was only one incident and that was with the drunk emo fucktard that came and drank our booze, I guess he was a local or something. Anyway, last I heard, a few of the lads found him past out in the garden out the back, so they dragged him out to the laneway and left him there. He was gone this morning, so I'm told.

Mudgutz and I had a quick dance off to Baby's on Fire by Superpitcher, we cranked up the PA to the point where all the pictures were rattling on the walls just nicely.

We then headed up to the Union bar in the back streets of Collingwood and stayed there for many beers. Nice bar, never been there before. Met a bloke there who I was in High school with in year 7 for only a couple of terms, but he remembered who I was funnily enough. He congratulated me on getting myself together and was happy to see that I wasn't still the complete cunt like I was in school. We also reminised about the really hot science teacher we had back then. *Woah*

Thanks to Becy and Tash for the most awesome BargeArse t-shirt, I'll post another blog of that, had plenty of jealous punters in the pub wanting one :)

For those of you who couldn't make it, we are open until Sunday 11th June.
Every Wednesday from 11am - 5pm through till Sunday 12pm - 5pm.

Thank you again :D

What the fuck is going in this world?

Joe
Originally uploaded by byte.

I think the look on my face in this photo about sums it at the moment. This is definitely a look of "What have I just done?"

So as most of you know, I recently resigned from my job of 10 years due to a severe lack of direction from my management team. In February of this year I completed an 11 month secondment to our IT Account Management team which I thourougly loved and enjoyed every minute of being there. I was promised the world by some senior managers that I wouldn't be going back to my second level support role which I took as a good word that there is no way I would be going back. Cool, until Feb 7th came and I was ushered back to the old job and dumped with everything and was expected to know everything again without any updated, training or conversation as to how we do things now.

At first I thought, nah, it';s ok, I'll just sit here and do my thing. My stats were the second highest in the group for 3 months running and again I thought I was doing ok. I later found out that week that we were recruiting new grad's from uni and one of them was to back fill me in the old AM role, lucky them to have such a great start in their IT career. However, this also meant that I would definitely not be going back there knowing this news.

Within the last 6 weeks, my stats dropped down to lows I've never experienced and a severe lack of interest started to set in. My training was continually being cancelled (not reschedulled) and I felt that my career options at this firm were basically set to zero. I had applied for a couple of roles recently and was knocked back each time. One of the comments was "I didn't have enough passion for the job" of which my reply was (after a rather long pause.) "You know what, you're right, I don't." and left the conversation at that.

More recently in the lead up to my resignation, our group was continually being pummelled for doing the right thing, our response time was 100% and our resolution was 99% for the month. Fantastic you'd think. We were told in no uncertain terms that we were rorting the system. This subject often came up when this team performed well. The last kick was being told by some one from another department within this one, that myself and another member in my team were no longer going to attend ITIL training (which is meant to be a crucial part of our ongoing development in IT at any firm.) but the 2 new grads were going, half the service desk and a person that has got another job in another department were to go instead. The excuse given was that we couldn't have half a team out at the same time. I was also told that I could go at another time should I want to do it sometime in the future.

I was a little suprised by this and was very annoyed, but you get these obstacles in life and this was one I didn't want to climb over. My reasons for leaving have been a build up of all the things listed here and a few others that I won't go in to.

Whilst I am sad at the thought of leaving this place and some of the many fun times I have had, I am also very relieved at the fact that I will no longer have to deal with these people again. I must say, that this is only internal to the group I work as the others are treated like golden children. Enough of the work rant.

I have been put in touch with a couple of awesome dudes at an IT recruiting agency who are very keen to get me work and I can't thank them enough even for just saying they'd like to help. I had a great meeting with them a couple of weeks ago and it's all positive.

So yeah, my work stuff has been interesting but other stuff has also been going on in my life. I have managed to successfully destroy good relationships without evening knowing it. I have now learnt not to kiss people unless I really want something to go further, this has happened with a couple of close friends who I now rarely hear from. I miss you and still think of you and I am sorry for obivously upsetting you.

I appear to have an eternal habit of fucking up things with chicks. I am not sure why, but it has to stop. I'm not really that much of a cunt, am I? Of course, there may be someone who has me totally awestruck at the same time, but I'm not ready to discuss that yet.

Housing: Our lease is due to expire in about 5 weeks and I desperately want out of that house. The room that am in is horrible, it has these large floor to ceiling mirrors that give off a horrible aura in that room, I have tried to enhance the feeling in that room but it just doesn't go, others that have stayed with me have also said similar things even with out me saying anything prior. So I'm on the hunt for a new place and yes, another 12 months with Mum.

At nearly 30 I also find that living my Mum is fucking hard work. Sadly she is getting old, but at the moment she doesn't need "care", more of the company of another human, that we obviously all want. She too has had quite a cunt of a life and is/has been suffering severe depression the last 3 years since her divorce. This is what I find hard to deal with. I have 2 elder brothers, but they are both in England and either can't move here or don't want to, but I find that I can't keep doing this all on my own, dudes, if you are reading this, this is one conversation the 3 of us will be having when I get there to try and resolve this.
I did find out last week that Mum has booked in to a unit somewhere near Burwood station that has housing very cheap, you pay a nominal small fee and $200 a month to have someone check on you, take your bin out and anything that needs doing up. It sounds ok, but a bit horrible at the same time. I am at a loss as to what I really should do, but will know soon enough.

Finally, My Aussie passport came in today, this means I can now happily make plans to go and hang out with my brothers in their home. I haven't been back to England since 1998 and then, it wasn't really a holiday as I was only there for 2 weeks. So I am sooo very excited.
I went to a travel agent this morning at got what I thought was a good price, $2200 including tax, so I have to confirm with them by Monday as it's getting quite close to the day.

So my plan is this:
I finish work on Tuesday 6th June, stay at home and complete study for MCDST certification (I have been studying this for ages). Aim to sit exam before 9th June.
Arrange with real estate agent for 3 month extension on our lease. (I spoke with them today and shouldn't be a problem.)
My Exhibition finishes on the 11th June. Have a few drinks with the exhibitors and also it's the Flickr meetup that afternoon, Traincore is also on that night from 9-2am. Have Monday the 12th at home packing, take off Tuesday 13th June arrive in England on the 14th.
Come home some time in the first week of August, probably 7th or 8th and arrange to meet up again with Recruiters to get straight back in to work.

Hopefully if that plan works out, I will start to finally be happy again :D

Props to Byte for the awesome photo, thanks mate :)

Disclaimer: I am not seeking any sympathy from anyone, I just need to air my thoughts out and soemtimes this is the best way of doing so. If you don't like what you read here, then piss off. Thank you.

I'm in love with Melissa Theuriau the very hot French Newsreader and here's why:

<img style="DISPLAY: block; But I'll keep those to myself.

Wikipedia HDR Info

I took this photo of under the Sandridge Rail bridge with the original intention of creating an HDR image but wasn't happy with it at first so I only posted the one on the right, (which I still prefer.) but the other night I'd thought I'd try it again (The HDR process that is.) and was pleasantly surprised with the results, (the photo on the left.) This HDR was done with 5 different exposures.
I did take 9 shots originally, but it appeared to be way to bright for what is meant to be a night image.

There is some great HDR work that can be found on Flickr

Oh and HDR is also highly addictive too

I thought I was ok, then it hit me, hard! The last time he mentioned anything to me, he used a proxy, (Someone else to ask me a question.) as to why I didn't have a tie on. That person mentioned that perhaps I had simply forgotten to put one on? (Well at least I seem to think that I do?) *touches self*

What does one do in this situation? Ordinarilly, I wouldn't bat an eyelid about it, but this time I have a different thinking about it all (Well at least whilst I'm listening to this cd I have on at the moment.) And i realised something as I posted in a thread tonight about how old you are, that 28 is by no means the end of the world, I can still find someone, I'm not to ugly (Seen some bad fuglies of late.) etc... but that I am also currently the 19th oldest on ITM. One of a few 28ers. The rest of them are bloody kids!!! (21 is average) Hence why I am fascinated by soemone who is a few years younger than me but acts like they are an adult!

That makes an impression in my world. Someone that I can have a conversation with that doesn't end up with a sentence like, "Why haven't you bought me a present today/this week/ever?" or "You told me you like me, Why? *Edit, I have edited this sentence out as it made no sense at all (Something about someone getting fucked.)*?" Did I fuck! Here's a fiver, fuck off bitch and wipe your mouth.

OK, so that last sentence may not have happened, but I guess by now you are either blushing or laughing :) Either way, that is a good sign that we are only human after all.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://joebennett69.blogspot.com/2005/03/jees-im-confused-wtf.html' title='Jees I'm confused? I have not done anything about it yet except for spitting in their letterbox a couple of times :)

Right well for some reason each time I go to use blogger it crashes, so I’ve gone to Dreamweaver instead, here goes?

A lot has happened in the last month or so, I know I cannot remember all of it but here are some snippets:

Daimo’s birthday at his house – Date escapes me
Scooters birthday at Yak – 28th January 2005
Carl Cox – 29th January 2005

Possibly usual Friday drinks? – 4th February 2005

Saturday 5th February

Sharon D's birthday, on target for a cruise around the river, docks and the bay. Met up with Mick & Steph at their house and after long debate it was decided that we would drive in as the 15 minute tram ride to New Quay was going to be too long and it's easier to drive :) Got to New Quay only to realise that we were meant to be at Victoria Harbour where the booze cruises depart from (Mick did give us the scenic tour as we drove down one of the piers, was quite cool!) When we arrived there were about 5 other boats around all doing basically the same thing. Cool.
Sharon did mention that the boat we were to be on, also had 2 hens nights also aboard and that a young single bloke like me should attend just based on that. I looked at the notice board on the side of the boat that said:
Sharon's 28th
blah blahs 40th
blah blahs 28th Anniversary.

The 28th Wedding aniversary was an eldery couple wanting something different with their night, cool, they had fun. The 40th were a bunch of metro dickheads that couldn't hold their booze and spewed all over the little toilet at the back of the boat. Not to sure why that person didn't just do it over the edge. Poor prick that had to clean up though, absolutely disgusting. The dinner was actually nice and the beers were small but we ordered plenty. Some of the girls were having an interesting competion of who can through a pot off the back of the boat the furthest. Funny to watch. The cruise went for about 4 hours and was a pleasent way to view our fine city that we live in. The actual dinner was spent in the Royal Melbourne Yacht Club in Williamstown next to a Navy frigate being assembled, we weaved up down the harbour and a little bit at the Yarra where could actually go up.

Photos can be seen at http://www.flickr.com/photos/30802528@N00/

Note:
Melbourne had just had it's worst storm ever recorded on Wednesday 2nd Feb, I did hear somewhere that it was actually from a cyclone, was pretty scary. This was the reason that we could not go up the river on the Saturday night, we simply couldn't have fitted under the bridges. Damian has posted a lot of photos at http://www.daimo.org/gallery/wet, some interesting photos well worth a look.

Wednesday 9th Febraury 2005

Celebrate exactly 8 months with a cigarette!

Friday 11th February 2005

Was meant to be a quite night in as I have my 2nd operation schedulled for Monday morning. Ha, who was I kidding, biggest pissathon this year so far! We went to Trader Bar in the city as suggested by Kathryn as her younger sister Dani is in town from Brisbane, was a quite a nice place. The difference with this palce is the drinks change prices dependant on what people are actually drinking, eg, if you buy x amount of the same drink that price goes up but other drink prices start to fall, it is a good concept if you don;t mind sampling lots of different types of drinks and various alchohol types. We had a fairly big crew in for tonight, so conversations were strong and the hormones were working overtime. Met a couple of hotties that work for a different company in our building, funnily enough, we share the same floor and I can see one of them from where I sit, (No I am not stalking her.) Daimo was 1st in there as he was pushed in to go and introduce himself, he sat there for a bit on his own, then I sauntered in, G'day girls, you work on the same floor to us don't yah??? Christine and Nicole are a couple of really nice people who listened to our crap for long enough for them to actually stop and say hi when we see them around. Which is nice, as this is a rarity to not be told to get fucked each time :) I have also developed quite the schoolboy crush on Christine *blushes* and she is now aware of this (As of Thursday 24th).

After everyone was bored of being at Trader Bar (Yes I did have a little nap on the extremely comfy sofa's, not intentional) we headed off to De Biers to meet up with Clare and her chicks. Man this was the worst night I have ever had there, the music was being dj'd by a complete twat that had obviously never dj'd in his life, all the girls were getting their arses pinched by the hungry horny teenage boys and everyone in the place was completly fucked beyond belief on every type of booze and drug fuel. So we stayed for a bit. Went home at about 3 way to pissed.

Saturday 12th February 2005

Spent day watching movies and tv at a friends house. Then...

Night of the infamous Sexy Party. Our friend Kate has invited Scott and I to her mates Sexy Party over in Carlton. Scott and I went halves in a slab of Jim Beam and Cola cans to set the mood and Kathryn who also came with had some other brand of tart fuel.

What to wear: I personally do not own a single item of clothing that could possibly described as sexy so this was going to be an interesting task... I ended up purchasing those fish net glove/sleeve things that are all the rage over here, (well it is for the girls and the men of Brunswick St.) put on a blue singlet over my black polo shirt and headed off. Scooter was Abe Lincoln and Kathryn was the sexy one out of the 3 of us :) Now I was told that I was looking rather Justin Timberlake-ish and I'm not sure with to be mildy excited or scared :P Was a piss funny night spent with some great looking people who went to a lot of effort and looked fucking sexy.

Sexy Party photos at http://www.flickr.com/photos/ssandars/sets/117896/ (Yes most nights appear to be documented by photographical representation.)

Sunday 13th February 2005

Day of recovery well hungover.

Monday 14th February 2005

Today is the day of 2nd operation and I am shitting myself as usual. 5:30am wake up to be at the hospital for 7am start. Had to get the train in as I obviously can't drive in if I'm to have a general and I didn't want to ask anyone for a lift at that time of day :) This was a hospital experience that I would rather not have had to have, here's some of what happened:
Firstly, the op I'm meant to have today is a simple one, they are going to insert a fat plug into the small hole that I have left in my ear drum, they take a piece of fat from my ear lobe and stick it in. Simple really :)

The nurse that took me to the theatre kept saying that the operation I was about to have is a really long one and that this is a major operation and I would have to spend a couple of days there. Erm no, I'm here for a 20 minute op as stated many times by the Dr. Nononononono, she started to fucking rant and rave that I was wrong, I said, listen here, I know what I'm here for, get me some one here now to tell you what's going on! As I'm laying on the pre op bed, the anaethetisist set the story straight, Phew. Then I heard some other crap from the dickhead nurse that clearly had no idea who she was and what her job was..........

Recovery Room Post Op - Hi Joe how do you feel? Like i'm gonna throw up, how long have I been out for? Oh about an hour. Cool, I've had it done and now I can stop being scared. In comes the morphine, man that is some cruisy shit :D

Back in to my little room with a few others who are looking really worse for wear and i'm feeling fine, feeling like I would like to be home now, but I know I have to stay for a few hours, so I read the paper. A nurse comes in and says, you should be feeling fine they only cleaned your ears out so you can go home now. What the fuck I said, this is about the 3rd different story I have been told about my ear, What the fuck is going on. They are all getting shitty at me because i;m swearing to much for their liking. "I don't know Joe, I'll go get the Dr." The Dr couldn't come up to see me as I was still in theatre, cool, I understand, So Mum goes and talks to him in the phone.

It turns that my ear had so much more new infection that if he had of done what he wanted to have done, the plug would have eroded almost immeadiatly. So off home I went and whored myself on ITM for a couple of hours and then off to bed.

The cab ride home was a good one. Hallo mate, how are yah? yeah good thanks i've just escaped from the hospital I'm an inmate. He shat himself and didn't say anything else for the whole journey home!

Today is also Valentines Day, nothing given, nothing received. Not a popular day in my calendar.

Tuesday 15th February 2005

I actually went to work, pretty silly as I was so spaced out from all the meds. I did however catch Christine out in the lift lobby and she apologised for being rude to me yesterday??? Erm ok, but I wasn't in yesterday. AH ok. Conversation quickly moved to her birthday which is coming up this Friday.

Wednesday 16th February 2005

Spent the day at home, didn't do much except get about 50 or so new posts on ITM about valentines day etc...

Thursday 17th February 2005

Back to work today and it's also Deans bucks night tonight in St Kilda. Funny night. Scott, Mick and I got down there at about 7ish, started off at the Prince of Wales, met all of the dudes that were attending, they are all a really nice bunch of people. Now given I was still taking my meds, drinking was not a good idea, I had had about 6 pots/stubbies and was totally hammered. Had to leave at about 10:30 and went home to bed. There is only one photo that i can find: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ssandars/4949539/in/set-40457/

Friday 18th February 2005

3rd hangover since I've given up the ciggies and this one really hurts, woke up late, go to work late and was completely useless all day.

I went to Yak for 1 beer and I knew that if I went for one I was there for the long haul, another early morning finish. Went to De Biers again, There was no I was going after last weeks effort, but Kathryn's sister had lost her id and she knew that that was the only place she would get in but only if I got her in, more to the point, if she was seen getting in with a couple of oldies like Scooter and I there would be no hassle at the door, fair enough. My intention was to stay long enough to finish a beer in a plastic glass but ended up there for about an hour. http://www.flickr.com/photos/ssandars/5017267/in/set-40457/

Saturday 19th February 2005

Took Mick to airport in the morning, he's off to Boston and San Francisco.

This afternoon is Felicite & Deans wedding at Red Hill down on the Mornington Peninsula. Scott had organised for him, Steph and I to stay it his Mum's B&B down in Rosebud, brilliant. We got there and Beryl showed us around, cool a nice big Queen size bed, spa etc... It was when that Beryl asked if we had bought some thing to wear in the spa (or not wear) and mentioned to Steph that she could just wear her undies, the look on Steph's face was priceless, Scott then had to explain the we were not a couple and that another bed would be required as apparantly mentioned earlier. There was a sofa bed that I slept in :)

A few bottles of tart fuel later and we are being given a lift up to Red Hill for the wedding. What a venue, (When I remember what it was called I will post a link.) beautiful view over the Westernport Bay towards Shoreham. Danny was there to film the ceremony and I grabbed the other camera that he had and filmed some other shots and angles.

The girls turn up quite late, (I think it was about 20 minutes from memory???) Dean was a bit nervous but new that she was there regardless :) This was no ordinary wedding, it was a wedding where the attendees, Us, gave them away, we also got to say "We Do", as in we do want them to married, the ceremony was about 30 minutes and everyone looked absolutely stunning. Dan was best man, Rebecca and Claire were the bridesmaids and Deans younger brother Scott was the other groomsman. One of the nice things about this wedding was the pasing of the rings. The rings were tied together with some bow and passed around to everyone to "bless" them or for you to say your thing, I said "I love you both very much and wish you all the happiness in the world" and then passed them on to Jarrod. I did also film most people passing on their regards, so hopefully it came out ok.

Photos. The bridal party headed off to Shoreham beach for their photo session and also for a bit around the winery.

Reception: There were 2 large tables set out with everyone seated it looked awesome, it also got people out of their little groups and into a couple of large ones. Great idea :) Was a great reception, nice good food and nice good people. There were about 60 of us in total, so I feel very special for being invited :)

Loads of photos at http://www.flickr.com/photos/ssandars/sets/128099/

Friday 25th February 2005

Bec's last day at work, she is off to a new company where she's scored an awesome role and a load of more $$$'s. In true fashion we had a booze up. No Yak, we went to Misty's out the back of work, and got hammered beyond belief, well at least I did :)

After this and a couple of other pit stops, I went to Honky Tonks to meet up with some new ITMers namely Becy and Samm, these 2 are fucking brilliant on all levels, Ii had an absolute ball with you both and look forward to more hilarity next time. I also met a few others too, but stories will have to stay with us. Finished up at about 6am this morning completely farked, have no memory of the taxi ride, but I do remember getting in and out and paying with a heap of coins, hehehe.

Saturday 26th Februray 2005

I've had about 3 hours sleep and the phone rings, eh hello (in very husky just woke still drunk and not to sure where I am voice.) Had a quick chat with Leah and fell out of bed. Steph and Scott came over and picked me up to go out for breakfast. This was a good thing, we were having inspections of our house at 1 and didn't want to deal with people that didn't know me! Had a rather scattered breakfast then went off to Scott's to watch some movies and tv :) Kate also joined us. Conversation took us to, Are we going to go to an over 28's club tonight or what? Or what should have been the answer. Did a bit of searching on the net and came up with Hotel Shoppingtown in Doncaster otherwise known as Club 28's or some shit like that, I'm not going to say much apart from it was fucking shite, read the thread I started here...http://www.inthemix.com.au/forum/showthread.php?p=388297792#post388297792 <-- Does contain rude language.

We stayed for about an hour. Nuff said!!! ^^read that for more info.

We then went to Alia Bar in Fitzroy, I like it there, but we were way over dressed for there, so we stayed for a beer then left. Headed up to the Builders Arms as the girls wanted a dance and I wanted a better beer and somewhere that wasn't full of eliteist pretentious greased up waxed chested fuckwitts :)

Night ends when the pub closes, I'm really tired and in dire need of sleep, Off to bed off chops. Night all xxx

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

New thing that I'm going to add shortly called True Stories.

Part 1 – America, I have a dream, deeply rooted in a hot blonde type dream! "Yep, No worry mayte", I get home and take my first mouth full and the box is full to the brim with beef, chicken and prawns. Funny sounding vegetables...

Now I do remember the prick giving me a sly grin when he was getting my food together, but I thought nothing of it, he even said out loud, One vegetarian Singapore Noodle, then I think he followed up with, "Ha ha, let's fuck this annoying customer over who comes in all the time and doesn't order from our strict menu." Or at least I thought that's what he said???

Anyway I picked through at least half of it, discarding the bits I didn't want to eat, whilst swearing at the top of lungs, "I'm gonna fuck you up next time I see you!!!" I ate a small amount of it, now I'm feeling really queezey, my plan is this... If I feel like i'm gonna throw up as is usually the case with meat laden food, I will jump in my car go down to his shop, throw up in his door way and leave a note in the spew just for him:
Dear ****, (and no it's not the Director General of the BBC...) Thank you for tainting my food, please have it back, Happy cleaning, Regards, Me!

PS, it was Oodles of Noodles in Camberwell.

I have done this to Sofia's in Camberwell for dodgy food, they copped it 3 times :)

Big Black Cox

Thursday 27th January 2005 - Cont'd
Damians birthday, went to Auburn bowls club in Hawthorn for a couple of ends, didn't personally play but drank a lot of cheap beer though! Off to Palace in Camberwell for light entertainment and more beer.

Friday 28th January 2005
Still on leave, came into the city in the evening for Scotts birthday at Yak Bar, I was a little eager and got in about 4:30 and started the festivities on my own, slowly people started coming down and our group swelled to many. Was good to see so many people that I don't get see all out at once any more. Good on yews.

Saturday 29th January 2005

Early Afternoon
Way over commited myself today to to many parties, Meg I apologise for not getting to see you on your special day, If I can make it up to you, please let me know.

Evening
What can I say, Carl Cox fucking rocks! Went to see him at Room680 in Hawthorn and what a performance. Got to Room at about midnight, Scott and I picked up Bec on the way back from Shazzanats (Sharon's birthday) down in Edithvale. That to was a hoot. Love to see so many bogans, scozzas and scrags all in the same place at once :) Met up with Damian, Cammers, Newey and a couple of their mates at the back bar. The main room the tunes were only just getting started, nice bit of progressive to start the night off with and in the House room, they were playing , well, house.

As some of you may know, my ears aren't the best, so ear plugs are now a must for any club/rave environment from now, and Room is no exception when it comes to loudness, fark it was loud!!!

Out comes the big man himself and the tunes were banging, started off with a nice hard beat, it did get mixed around with some other styles including some dodgy arsed remix of Michael kiddie toucher Jackson's Billie Jean, also included (Searching my memory) was Mylo's Drop the pressure <-- Sick to death of hearing this, I don't mind the B Side though, No mo fo's gonna drop the pressure here!, Seven Nation Army remix (??? Not to sure of name.) and I actually don't mind this track. All in all, Carl played an awesome 3 hour set. Now for the fun: Fucking Muzza's, I seem to be attracted to hanging out near this bunch of coked up fuckwits that have to keep their top half naked all the time, hot, sweaty, greasy, annoying and always near me (See Summerdayze post.) also there is their infamous Muzza Dance <-- Right click for Wazza's description. This lot were no different. There was the usual super dumb super hot chicks that hang out with them. One was Paris Hilton wanna be who's favourite line whilst being harrassed was, "What the Fuck are yews lookin' at!" or "Get farked you C...'s". Her mate on the other hand just said nothing, she getting well protected by King Muzza. 'Oi leave my chick alone, Re!". I also had a bad case of the stares and couldn't help but stare/look/oogle whatever. They were actually very funny to watch especially when the coke was wearing off and they were getting restless and bored.

4:00am
Night night Muzza's. This is the time of the night when most of the piss head crowd are going home and the bunch of people near us. Finally some room to move :) 1200 people packed into a venue that probably really only holds about 700 is not the most pleasant of feelings. 1 hour left of Coxy and this was his finest moment with me.

7:00am
The music has stopped and everyone from our group except for Scott and I have also gone home. So we cave in, literally and go home to. I sat out the front till a bit after 8am talking with random people, t'was fun :) Met some funny people and also met 2 people I was meant to meet earlier in the evening that are also on ITM.

Thank you to all involved in being at this event with me, was an awesome night :)

Sunday 30th January 2005
Day spent in bed. Nuff said :)

Stayed tuned for more soon.

1st post - I am excited... Well mostly excited!

I have been copping a lot of shit lately, firstly for having a blog, but secondly for having a blog with nothing in it.

Well here you go a page with nearly nothing in it :D

Nah, really, here's whats been going on in the last couple of months:

Work christmas party - 1pm - 7pm 23rd December 2004:

This was with out doubt the best xmas party we have put on in the 9 years I have attended, that and I actually remember most of that day :) I won't go into to many details but feel free to PM should you want to know any specifics.

A couple of things to note though:

-I did find out that a girl friend of mine had been warned about me, fortunatly she shrugged of the comments. Yes I do know who did the warning and you can both get fucked.

-I had the intention of asking one girl out who I have fancied for quite sometime, I did get round to chating to her for a while, all good funny stuff, I then nervously dropped "the question", (I always get nervous with the one's I really like.) she politely said, Thank you but I wont go out with work people, fair enough I said :( She then said, "But I still wanna come out and drink with you". Very cool and I have gained a great friend anyway :)

-Also met another really nice girl who is great at being a smartarse, just like me, I won't say better, but on a par :P

7pm - sunset
Then got a tram back in to the city where I met up with my brother Nick and went to Honky Tonks, a little club that I don't go to nearly as much as I would like to. Just to close to Yak Bar. Stayed there for a couple of hours. Had a very interesting proposition from someone. Why is it so wrong to say to a girl, "No Thanks, I don't wanna fuck you?" There was nothing in it, I just didn't wanna do it with her. Just me I guess. Comments welcome.
Carried Ash back to Kapers, he is well gone by this stage, but still being his usual funny self :)

Sunset - ?
Ah Yak Bar. This place was empty as. Pulled up a chair at the bar and Em service be the tastiest cocktail I have had, dunno what it was, I did ask about 3 times but, you know ????
Saw various work people walk on by, waved and smiled at them all.
Nick, Scott and others turned up at Yak, then we went of to the next venue.

?-?
The Wine Bar at Fed Square, was pumping out the tunes, apparantly we crashed the Pitcher Partners xmas party, I explained we worked in the same building, they happy to accomodate. Turns out the venue was open to the public anyway. Met up with heaps of other people ther, Bec, Sharon, Amelia, Julie, Lisa, erm I'm sure there were some other there to :) Had an interesting chat with a gril called Stacey, turns she has(d) an interest with someone who works in IT, turns out it was me, now she's to embarresed to to talk to me! Oh well. Went and had a burger with Bec and she went home.

Some how this night ended with me getting a tram home on my own and falling asleep on it. I luckily woke up 1 stop past my house. Phew, what a day.

Stats:
About 25-30 beers
About 10 bottles of tart fuel
About 5 bourbon and cokes
1 cocktail
I reckon I was told to get fucked only once for the day - *Proud of that moment*
Met many awesome people from work.

Christmas Day 2004:
Christmas 2004 was spent with Mum and my brother Nick down by the Yarra River where Bridge Road starts in a lovely little park there, right near Scott's house, spent a few hours there having a picnic and things that you do when you are sitting in a park :)
Then went to Dan 7 Cath's newish house in Camberwell for Refo's christmas drinks, was a very good night spent with most of our usual suspects.

New Years Eve 2005:
Started off at Damian & Helen's in Camberwell with a 6 pack of Beam & Cola cans for about an hour & a half, then a "free" train ride to Mick n Stephs in Hawthorn for a couple more Bourbon's and about had a good chat about stuff, also met a few more Canberrans, then another train into the city to meet up with Damian where he scored Scott and I freebies to Belfast which was an Old Skool House Night at QBH, T'was absolutley awesome to say the least :)
Photos can be seen at http://www.flickr.com/photos/ssandars/sets/69043/ & http://www.flickr.com/photos/ssandars/sets/40457/ (Props to Scooter for some awesome camera work in the last couple of months, it's been a pleasure sharing those moments with you :D )
Having never been to QBH, I found it be an awesome venue, huge, loud and not rediculously expensive for drinks, a nice surprise. Olive Leib came on and performed a phenomenal set, (Erm Yes, I was in a some what altered state, but it still would have been awesome.)
Finished up there at about 3:30ish??? And got a Free tram ride to near Scott's place, (It was the last tram for a few hours.) Got a cab as soon as I got off the tram and had about an hours sleep :)

New Years Day 2005:
Got up and watched crappy video hits, thinking, ooooo Summadayze has started, got to go NOW.
Met up with Scott on the tram and went for breakfast in the city. Got to SD at about 1ish to a half hour q to get in, groan. Saw all of the bar staff from the London Tav, in the Q, had a laugh at them, (well in my mind i did!)
Having been to five Summadayze now they are always an eye opener, check http://www.inthemix.com.au for more info

This one was no exception, fantastic chicks, dickhead muzzers, (They're the coked up steriod wankers without t-shirts stinking and sweaty and annoying and everything else. There is talk of a gym and mirrors at the next SD just for the muzzers!.) top tunes to be heard though and great sets played by all.

Met up with Simone who i hadn't seen in over a year, she's been O/S. Met some various randoms as well. Our usual crew weren't all there this year, as Cammers had taken them all over to the UK to celebrate his 40th in style. BTW Happy Birthday mate, see you on the 29th @ Carl Cox :)

Went home extremely munted but feeling all the better for it :)

I actually miss all the glam of the Future Entertainment events as I haven't been much else in the last couple of years except for Earthcore events, which I love. It's good that I am able mix in with these 2 way different events.

Hippies or Muzzars...

10th January 2005:
Ah back to work and guess what... Still nothing to do. Not that I am complaining, but the last 2 months, there has been nothing to do, I reckon i've had about 2 full days of work in that time. So I've become a forum whore on http://www.inthemix.com.au/forums a good bit of harmless fun. I spend most of days answering witty questions and giving vague answers!

26th January 2005 - Skips Day:
Went around to Mick n Steph's last night to watch a Chinese/Hong Kong movie Infernal Affairs. No, not a porno, But a rather funny cop movie.
Today went to meet Felicite, Dean, Bec, Scott, Paul, Sarah and others at The Prince of Wales ion St Kilda, not a usual hang out, but good to be somewhere that isn't Yak and charging $6.50 for a beer.
Stayed there for a few hours sitting outside in the blazing sun (39 degrees today) watching the St Kilda talent doing it's thing.
